the beeman cometh...

...and after slicing out a panel in junior's bedroom wall the beeman taketh away the still active hive (the one in the middle panel on the left).

An early start as Carlos and Wicktor arrived at 7.30am.
Smoker and hive remover spatula in hand and within no time the hive was in two boxes in the back of the BeeMobile (extra) for relocation to a new bush home away from fussy home owners.
The structure of the hive is so very beautiful and the industry that produces a tiny teaspoon of honey is truly remarkable...may this hive thrive elsewhere!
And a bonus...the old hive had been vacated for the new one and a bucket of honeycomb (extra) awaits a crafting experience!
Yes we will make our own beeswax candles!

The wall space (extra) will be re-panelled and painted but it does remind me of some paintings by artist Anselm Kiefer whose works incorporate straw, ash and organic materials that will disintegrate with time.
