Greystoke Castle Gates.

Another damp dull day round home.  As the afternoon was a bit better we took ourselves out for a wander round the village, partly for exercise and partly looking for blips.

As part of the walk we went into the Castle grounds.  The castle isn't open to the public, unless of course you want to pay several thousand pounds to be married there.  However there are some very nice permissive paths through the estate.

This shot has had me puzzled.  The gateway looks not level but I have checked the verticals carefully and they are upright, and yet the crenelations across the top aren't horizontal.  Something I have never noticed after 40 years in the village.
