Salmon Ladder

Today I was in Kramfors, about 40 minutes drive north of home so our Kia could be serviced.  While they were working on the car I went for a walk through town.
Kramfors is as ex-industrial town (sawmills and timber processing) and generally not the most beautiful of places but running through the edge of town is this small river. It is dammed up in several places, probably after the ex-industries, and each dam has its own ladder so the salmon can migrate up the beck.
I just showed this picture to Rose and she remembered that her mother-in-law told her that, back in the fifties, she used to bring the sheets down to this pool to wash them.
Sweden was not always a wealthy land.
