Turmoil in the West Dart

First, I must apologise for my absence and lack of attention to other blippers! I may not be blipping very much but I will return in due course!

We have never seen the River Dart as stormy and dangerous looking as this. It was quite scary! The West Dart near Huccaby Bridge on Dartmoor usually flows swiftly around large craggy boulders on its way to a sandy beach and a quiet deep pool before disappearing under the arched packhorse bridge. Today the rocks were invisible and the pool was a raging torrent. The white angry foam could be seen all along the winding river from the steep hill above. The roaming sheep, ponies and cattle must keep away!
