Smoke, camera, action!

Where there's smoke, there's fire - or so the saying goes - except when there's smoke for the camera and in fact it's steam. A frantic morning with multiple cast members and both camera units filming a 'fire scene' with prop furniture and objects being carried out of the Castle by actors and cameos by a couple of my colleagues.

Apparently the sight of the Castle from the parkland was convincingly disturbing so I made a radio call to all stations reminding everyone a smoke machine was in use and in fact the Castle was not on fire!

Filming wrapped at 5pm and the last of the equipment and crew left the Castle by 645pm. Watch Channel 5 in Spring 2017 for a documentary on 'Inside Windsor Castle'. The dramatisation flashback scenes recreated with actors were filmed at Leeds Castle playing the role of Windsor.
