Movement

I attended a very entertaining talk this morning by the writer Anthony Marra. on his book "A Constellation of Vital Phenomena". I asked him how he kept to the plot in his writing and he answered that he seldom did so, the plot changed often and sometimes the outcome was very different to what he may have intended when he set out. Every section rewritten 6 or 7 times and a thousand words a day is a productive day. When asked which writer he would like to emulate Anthony mentioned David Mitchell for the extraordinary ability he has to get inside his characters.
