Girls fees

19th November 2016:

This is the Principal, some parents and some students from Chiguere CDSS (Community Day Secondary School) talking to Mary in the only spot available outside the Centre for Learning, which is housed in every available space available under a roof at the moment.

The principal was telling Mary of the school's completion and how he is trying to cope with over 100 students with one other teacher and himself. Even at that the other teacher is not qualified to teach at secondary level.

In the context of Malawi maybe it is not bad, where the pupil teacher ratio at Primary School has risen to 200:1 with about 30000 qualified teachers waiting to be posted!!

The big request from parents was for school fees and Mary certainly gave them a serious gruelling about what they might be able to afford, why men were sitting around and exceptions Wells for Zoe to take over their responsibilities.
It looks like we will support 10, bringing our total number closer to 200.
For such a tiny organisation, I have no idea how we manage, but we are all volunteers and totally committed.
We have no offices, no CEO, no expenses of any kind, so 100% 0f our very generous donor's money gets to work on our projects.
