Backlit Barred Owl

This morning at today's session of the Nature Visions program in Virginia started with raptors.  After a wonderful lecture by Denise Ippolito and a slide show to drool over, we went outside to photograph owls provided by the Raptor Conservancy of Virginia.  There were two Eastern-Screech Owls, a Barn Owl and this Barred Owl.  It was so cold and windy we were literally shaking in our boots, but these gorgeous creatures were quite a sight.  I've added a profile of this bird as an extra.  All in all it was a fabulous photography weekend.
