(today's shot taken after just after midnight so today's Blip posted unusually early!)

Cruachan* is the Mascot of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
He's taking part in The Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
He's 23 years old and this will be his final performance before retiring.

He's met the Queen, been a guest at Balmoral - and has a "companion" waiting for him back in the paddock where he lives!

He makes his grand entrance at the Tattoo and then saunters down the street to where his box is parked.

Went 3 times last night to try and get a shot - the first results were utterly deflating.
It was dark, they were moving - and I just couldn't figure the right settings.

Last night/ Saturday there are two Tattoo performances so I had another chance.
Eventually settled on suppressed flash...but far from ideal results.

Decided to Blip it anyway - because he stole my heart!

*Named after (Ben) Cruachan (pronounced Crookhan) a beautiful area located in Argyll.

Full Auto was useless in the low light. Any pointers on how you'd have approached the shot most welcome. Thanks
