Eddie's don't take things lying down

Mentioned on Saturday that Eddie's newly pinned shoulder was not looking good. However like his Eagle namesake, he has not let it get him down and he continues to zoom around on three legs and towing the heavy appendage with him. We try to get him out of his cage as often as possible but it adds up to minutes rather than hours in a day.

We simply can't believe how well he is taking it. A real hero In the Blip our bad attempt to stiffen the appendaged leg. Angie took off to the vets in Memmingen with him late afternoon. I wished him well but was sure he would return with just 3 legs and the appendage removed.

Then set off for the evening dog walk and was simply over the moon when the Whats App came saying everything was fine with Eddie. Vet had x-rayed the shoulder and leg, everything as it should be. He did shorten the appendage which he had originally made extra long to protect it. He wants though to leave the jacket in place until Friday and will then replace it. He says every single day he is bound up is a day won for a good result. Running around dragging the foot is not a problem but climbing or better said falling is not good - a lesson every soaring Eddie knows. I don't think the other one had any pins put in his body but he did break a shoulder blade in Innsbruck in 1989 and that stopped his future prospects of Olympic Gold.

Our Eddie deserves a Platinum Medal.
