A tale of two sides

The west end of Twyford along the old drovers' road leads to Maidenhead and eventually London. The top photograph shows the old Alms House. Unfortunately the lower photograph shows the rather less arra ti è northern side of the road.

The two box like buildings starting with Booze Bargains are particularly unattractive. The sign in front of the further away building, now Tesco Express used to be a pub. The Green Man if I remember correctly. Not particularly nice pub, but it was open on Christmas Day morning, the only place that was. That was not enough to keep it in business however.
