An unexpected day

Today did not work out quite as planned and had a few surprises in store.

We were heading for Newcastle on the train but, while we were standing on a freezing Wetheral Station, there was an announcement that the train was delayed by 12 minutes, then it was 18 minutes . . . I realised that I was going to be pushed to get to my lecture on time and suddenly we decided that there were better ways of spending what promised to be a glorious day anyway.

Sunshine, blue cloudless skies, not a breath of wind, snow on the mountain tops, November and all the visitors have gone home = Keswick!

It would seem that other Blippers had the same idea, as it turned out that there were six of us walking round the lake and we all met up at various points - unplanned Blipmeets took place.

Although there will no doubt be quite a few blips of Derwentwater today (and some people had tripods!), I cannot but post this picture, as it captures the beautiful day - when Autumn gave way to Winter. I was tempted by the extra though - Blipmeet Shadow - hope you can see Chloe.
