Day at sea

Got on board last night to find the porthole in our cabin bolted down “ for our own safety”.
A severe storm was forecast.
The captain’s note on the bed explained that this followed the unfortunate incident on another cruise ship.

Well that’s one way of putting it. One guest was sitting eating his dinner when a wave crashed through the porthole taking him to an untimely death.

At the mention of storms at sea I began to feel seasick. Then I gave myself a good talking to. The ship was stationery.

Anyway another leaflet appeared under the door saying sea-sickness pills were available free from the reception desk and if that didn’t work there was always an injection.

Well,  as it turned out the day at sea was just another blustery day. And we all remained upright.
