Robert Tannahill Overlooking Paisley Abbey

Pictures Martin Shields Herald and Times Group.
I was in Paisley this morning, a town I spent many days in as I was born in Johnstone and this was the big next town.
The statue is of Robert Tannahill a Scottish poet. Known as the 'Weaver Poet'.
When I was at school I took a black and white photograph of this statue and I always smile when I see it years later. I was going to do it agin with the same short telephoto but everything was so back lit it was impossible. However the sky was lovely and it made a great silhouette of him looking over beside the Abbey.
