It's Grim Up North

Larches

Sorry comment-lite at the moment. Running out of steam.
But, the good news is, after weeks of negotiating with social services my mother-in-law can stay permanently in the care home where she was having respite care. SS wanted her to go back to looking after herself, but she really didn't want to and we thought her dementia was getting to the point where she couldn't look after herself - that's how she ended up in respite care. She is now gaining weight, alcohol free, (that was a big problem) and best of all.... not lonely any longer and feeling valued.  She is still mobile and active and is helping feed and look after the less mobile residents. She has a purpose after years of living on her own in sheltered housing, she can no longer roam the streets on her own (another problem) and, she said to G last week "I've never been happier in my life". -Result!
