Still Some Snow on Arran

9.5C and cloudy with some breaks and a little hint of blue sky from time to time. Zephyr.

Mid morning we took Apothecary7's car and drove along to the car park by the Doirlinn and had a short walk with Maeve the Deerhound. The we popped Maeve back in the car and had a wander out to the end of the Doirlinn which was mostly still under water with the tide high. We took some photos across to Davaar island and across the Kilbrannan sound to the hills of Arran which still have some snow on the tops.

The we had a walk along past the 69 mile marker on the Kintyre Way then Davaar House then round Kildalloig Bay until we reached the 70 mile marker out towards New Orleans. There were lots of birds along the shoreline today. Heron's were spaced along the shore and between them we saw Oystercatchers, Curlews, Ringed Plovers, Robins, Wagtails, a Peasant, the usual assortment of gulls and ducks, a pair of Shelducks which we haven't seen for a while, and a group of Wigeon. We walked back the way we had come.

Then we drove up to Glenbarr for lunch.

Afternoon telly ... Autumn test match. Rugby Union. Scotland v Georgia. Scotland won.
Later Wales v S. Africa.
