Nothing is strsightforward any more

Went into town this morning as had some jobs to do there.  Took the train in and was issued with a paper ticket at least 3 times the size of a regular train ticket. This had a QR code on it to scan at the barrier to exit the station. A helpful member of staff pointed out what I needed to do....
and the ticket wouldn't scan.

Then went into HSBC to pay some cash in and was met by 5 machines , 3 to pay in but 1 wasn't working, 1 was for business customers and the third you could only pay in by using a chip & pin card which I didn't have as it was for someone else.  Stood there for a few minutes looking stupid until a member of staff helped me out. Asked what happened to counter staff to be told they only work Monday to Friday!

Still, went to my own bank as well and dealt with a human which was far more pleasant.
