Quite a lazy day

A relaxed morning, Brunch for eight (sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns) and then the ladies went off to a 'Baby Shower' for Ian's daughter who is due to give him another granddaughter just before Christmas.
So one of my favourite films dug out to watch, no prizes for guessing what it is.
It's a nice prelude to the lecture I'm going to next Thursday evening at the Royal Geographical Society 'Crossing The Empty Quarter'.

Really looking forward to it and quite excited at passing through doors and corridors where the likes of Stanley, Livingstone, Darwin, Ranulph Fiennes, have gone before. I would say Gertrude Bell, an amazing woman who did much to explore the Middle East region but I wonder if women were allowed through the RGS portals in those days?

Edit Note - Just looked up and she would most certainly have been a member of the RGS. First lady member was in 1892, Isabella Bird.
