Helvellyn

We planned a shorter walk today and climbed Glenridding Dodd and Sheffield Pike (2 more Wainwrights).  Although it was only 4.5 miles on the map the GPS told us we had done 5.5 and it felt like it.   

The climb up was very steep and the walk along the top to Sheffield Pike was very cold with deep snow that made the going very slow.  It was a lovely walk however and the views were stunning.  I didn't get the camera out that much due to the cold but liked this view of Helvellyn from the side of the steep climb up to Sheffield pike.

The only person we saw was a farmer who was looking for a lost dog
