Washing in the freeze cold

This morning she was sitting on the ice. Not a good thing, because it was still freezing. She could be stuck on the ice with her pows. I tried with a stick making a hole in the ice, but the ice was to tick. She started to walk very slowly on the ice ( not easy). I kept tikking with the stick on the ice and that made her walk further until she was in the water again. So glad she was.

A few hours later she was washing herself in the freezing cold water. In the background you still can see the ice. I was standing there in the cold watching her washing in that freezing cold water. So good they have 25.000 feathers so they don't feel the cold. Swans even like the cold better then the warmth.

This afternoon it will get warmer and I hope the ice will be gone so she can swim again here in the ponds.
