What struck my fancy

Skye Road Bridge

was opened in 1995 and replaced the ferry which was a far more romantic way to make the crossing. The photo was taken from the War Memorial sited on an elevated area at Kyleakin.

The extra shows where another ferry links Skye to Glenelg on the mainland, at Kylerhea (pronounced Kyle-ray). This ferry operates from Easter to October and can take 12 passengers and has limited capacity for a car or two and some motor cycles.
