Protest

Edinburgh is suffering a particularly intense period of civic vandalism. The latest is the permission given for the creation of yet another city centre hotel on a council-owned area of land once earmarked for an extension to the existing Carnegie Library building.

There was a small demonstration today outside Parliament seeking Scottish Government support for a campaign to get a vote of no confidence in the City Council. I'm not sure the Government can do this, or if it should, but something seems deeply amiss in the Council Planning committee's decision-making process. And its general strategy for getting controversial applications through.
