Flopping Stands of Grass and the Greeting Vole Toy

The stands of ornamental grass will not decorate the landscape this winter. The remnants of the deep, heavy snowstorm we had last week is gone. We enjoyed over 50º F today ! But the grass did not make it. They were already too dry and dead before the snow dumped on therm.
I guess I will leave them messy like that until spring.

The Extra
Gracie Twinkle-toes brought her own freshly killed vole to the front door today. [This is for all of our blip fans who are not yet tired of voles. The cats certainly are not.--)
Finding the way in closed she stood out on the mat, tossing and catching the vole in mid-air. (I did not have the camera). Gracie remains a talented huntress.
Then she left it there where you see it.  I let her inside then got one of her toys for a blip comparison.
This is one of her favorite toys that she and Persey toss around the living room at night when the lights are out.
Here at the top of the steps our 'greeting vole' waves to passersby. If a scavenger does not remove it during the night I will take care of funeral duty tomorrow.
