The Right Hon #5RightsYC

One of those memorable days...

Today our group of 5Rights Youth Commissioners - young volunteers from across Scotland who are exploring digital rights - were at the House of Lords in London.

They were there to update the founder of 5Rights, Baroness Beeban Kidron, of their progress and also to seek her guidance and challenge about areas they should explore next.

The work they are doing is amazing - groundbreaking stuff - and it was wonderful to sit back and watch them present and discuss so thoughtfully. But then Baroness Kidron gave us a bit of an insiders tour of the House of Lords, which was pretty special it has to be said.

It included the actual cupboard where Emily Wilding Davidson - the suffragette who ultimately died when she thew herself under the King's horse - hid overnight so that she could be counted in the census and so recorded as there being a woman IN Parliament.

It was so so moving - especially to then talk about it with the young women who were with us. Goosebumps.

Yeah, I'll remember this one...always.
