Natural Wonders

There were two new Eastern Gray Squirrels on our deck today, perhaps the offspring of the one that visited regularly last year. This one, whom I've nicknamed "Tufty" for her eye-catching ears, has a particularly splendid tail, as well as considerable curiosity about what's beyond the deck! (see extras)

Phil and I indulged in an afternoon film today, needing something positive to brighten our spirits. "Seasons" is playing at The Limelight, one of two independent movie houses here, and I highly recommend it. The official website includes a brief trailer that will give you a sense of the film -- do watch it! -- and this additional information will, I hope, further encourage you to see it.

"Seasons" is certainly timely, and also very beautiful, filmed in France and Germany. Anyone who loves the animals, birds, insects, and other denizens of the forest will enjoy it immensely!

And there's a Blipfoto connection, as well: my Blip friend ValC recently blipped wild Konik horses, a native Polish breed, at Blacktoft Sands in Yorkshire, where their grazing habits are helping restore the area. Today, watching "Seasons," I recognized the Konik horses in the film, thanks to having seen those that ValC had shared here!
