Last day

We took a wonderfully interesting track through the mountains today to get back to Muscat. Much more thrilling than the Shotover in NZ but maybe not as scary as the Karakorum Highway. It took hours, with a great view from the top of the pass to where we were heading. However it was very hazy.

We came upon an AstroTurf football pitch on the only flat piece of ground further down, so the chaps had a game, with Anita as the ref.

On our return to Muscat there was time for a quick shower before heading off for the only rip-off of the trip, a dhow sail along the coast. It was pretty though and very relaxing if rather choppy.

After packing we went out to say goodbye to Sunil, at a nice Indian restaurant. The main attraction for some was that it served alcohol. You'll be surprised to hear Mr C and I were happy with water all week. We'll have a gin courtesy of BA tomorrow.
