Ashdown Forest

The Ashdown Forest is not really a forest, it's like the New Forest- mostly open heathland with patches of trees.  It was quite lovely wandering around the "forest" this afternoon on a cold, very sunny day,  looking for  bits of white tape that  Mr P had previous put out to mark the correct locations for the orienteering checkpoints,  so that I could put out the flags  for the night orienteers to find later.  In the trees it was very gloomy  except where the sun managed to fight its way through. 
Once dark,  the night orienteers turned up, found the checkpoints , then we all went to the pub.
