Encouraging New Blippers

We’re into the last month of the year and you are probably now either looking forward to the warm days of summer, or hunkering down to the dark days of winter. Looking through your blips we can see a stark contrast in the images depending upon where you live in the world. It adds a new dimension to the changing of the seasons for us here at Blip Central.

It’s also a time of year where historically we have seen the largest numbers of new members join Blipfoto. Starting a 365 photo project on 1st January is how many of us were introduced to the site. We believe it's becoming an increasingly popular idea and we're keen to make sure that people out there interested in starting such a project know about the existence of Blipfoto. We’ve already contacted photo magazines to make sure they know we are still around and hopefully help with a bit of promotion.

Here is where you can help. Do you know any friends, family or work colleagues who like taking photographs? Or are you a member of local photographic club?  How about talking to them about Blipfoto and offering them some encouragement to join and complete a 365 project? We know from looking back over the years that out of those people who make a committed start, a good proportion stay and ultimately become paying members. 

We’d love to see new people joining to make the community stronger and more vibrant, and we love witnessing the enthusiasm of new blippers as they become inspired by our community. We hope that now we have a sustainable level of membership you will have the confidence to recommend the site to others. Of course, attracting new members brings the chance to turn some of them into paying members, supporting the long term sustainability of the community and giving us more resources to improve Blipfoto for everyone.

We are going to be using social media to spread the word over the coming month, so if you use Facebook or Twitter please make sure you are following us and share the messages we put out. With your help, we’re sure we will get lots of new members in the next few weeks and months.

We've seen that many of you have been doing just that and we really appreciate the encouragement you are already giving to our newbies and prospective long-term members of the community. It's a little thing you can do that can make a huge difference. Thank you everyone.
