Salvation Army in Week Street

This is the start of the Christmas festivities when the Salvation Army brass band plays carols on the main street in Maidstone. A lovely sound which is always generously appreciated by shoppers and passers by.

Our day had to be changed from our original, and usual, Saturday morning plan. We weren't able to walk into town first thing. But every cloud has a silver lining as we decided to have lunch AND a coffee in town as well as doing a little light shopping.

The bright, sunny weather returned as predicted so it was a pleasant walk to and from town, many people were out in Mote Park with a whole armada of dogs both in and out of the water.

My rugby was cancelled this afternoon, a shame really, as it was going to be a closely contested Kent Vase competition game. The away side couldn't raise a team so had to forfeit the match. That left me full of energy so I had to go for a very enjoyable run to burn it off!.
