Missed

Derelict in the sense that it's no longer used for it's original purpose and has just been left. Once a thriving little shop selling just about everything from wellies to bath mats, blue twine to film, bird food to screws, papers to fishing tackle, paint to mouse traps, like many others in rural Ireland, it became no longer viable and closed a couple of years ago, much to the dismay of locals. It was one of those shops that had everything, tucked away somewhere. A bit like an Aladdin's cave, it went on for several rooms behind the first one, all crammed full of useful things. On arriving in West Cork one of my first purchases from this shop was a pair of wellies - fine enough to get married in, I was assured. 15 years later, the first holes have only just sprung.

15.45 and it's so dark! Still Christmas cards have finally been sorted.

Thanks to Evolybab for hosting DS for December.
