Did you ever!!

Two in two days.

I saved this lovely little beetle from a doggly death (not Mishka) and got bitten for my pains.  Ernie can be a little brute sometimes.  It's a bit dusty from garden soil (the beetle not Ernie)

I have no idea as to the species, it looks like it might be a green scarab beetle, which start to fly around this time of year.  Same family of the aptly named Christmas Beetle, but the CB is rather bigger and a lot paler in colour.

Anyway it's another newbie for me in our garden.
