Barbaratag

Yesterday was Barbaratag, the day of Saint Barbara.
Traditionally we cut a few twigs from a cherry tree, put them in water and they will bloom on Christmas Day.
Here is mine.

The day also reminds me of my school years in Landstuhl. Our headmistress was Schwester Barbara and we used to gather in front of her office and sing for her on her Saint's day. And were sent home an hour early that day.
