Junior's class assembly play was the Italian Christmas story of  'La Befana'
As 'King 1' he had lines (rehearsing all week) and costume thankfully provided by the school and we cobbled together a staff and treasure box.

A quick trip to the library afterwards and Carina was on the the desk.
Our library is AWESOME! and the librarians equally awesome, interested and very caring (they sent me a HUGE arrangement of cheerfully sunny flowers during the dark days of chemo)
Anyway, C knows the La Befana story through her Italian heritage and told me her father (one of eight) was not a good boy one year and while the story tells of onions, garlic and coal 'gifts' for not so good children...he got goat poo!

Mmmmm I wonder how that would go down today!
