Haircut Sir . . .

. . . The reckoning

Back in September I blipped that our flowering cherry needed a haircut.  Today the cherry and the willow both got a come-up-ance.

Work in progress in both of these shots. They do look a lot tidier now the work is done, even though the willow looks a bit straggly (shots for a future blip perhaps).  The willow was pollarded back in 2011 (just the trunk left) and look what it has grown to, so we expect it to fill out very quickly.

Sharp eyed blippers will notice that the hedgehog house is under the firs to the left willow – hopefully no one was disturbed (too much).

Hedgehog update – the young rats have proved to be a family of a larger yellow neck mice who have moved in – no probs there.  We still seem to have the wood mice over at the other side of the garden where the main feeding station is, but we only have one trailcam which we need to keep watch over the hedgehog house with so we can’t record them.  Lots of activity from our family over the past few nights.
