Out of its element

Back to blip - briefly.   Took three photos today of the snow in the garden, and I'm glad the flamingo is not real, because then it would really be out of its element!
We had a great time watching the girls play volleyball, not much time away from the gym.  The trip home on Sunday was harrowing, and eventually I'll have a chance to backblip and describe it for my own record.  The roads were treacherous, several sailings on ferries were cancelled because of high winds, and we were lucky to get home just before midnight after an exhausting and nerve-racking 17 hour trip.  G did a fantastic job of driving in some of the worst winter conditions we've ever seen.  We had to get home because G had 2 important appointments on Monday.  The last thing we wanted was to wake up Monday morning to snow here, poor road conditions and another ferry trip.  Fortunately the appointments went well and we got home before dark.  We both slept for about 12 hours last night, and G has a really bad cold.
This morning it was beautiful, with more snow overnight and bright blue skies, but the clouds have moved in and we're expecting more snow over the next few days.  We're hunkering down, prepared to stick around home until the weather and roads improve.  Catching my breath now and will be back to commenting soon.  It was nice to have a break from technology but I've missed seeing everyone's blips.
