bee studious...

...in how you focus -

how you set about to capture a bee... or in this case one of those hover flies... or perhaps this is something else? i'm not sure exactly what it is... i thought at first a bee - so that's my story for now - but i believe that is not what this is, really... boo!

the point though is this... i've come to realize it is indeed a study of sorts - this taking of pictures... especially when it comes to insects - or the very small species of nature... they are quick - seldom stop allowing you time to focus and deliberate with your camera... even with my whispering at them, they don't sit still for long - humph! but it's a science - isn't it? i'm a few days away from my 2 year anniversary - which has gone by extremely fast - and i believe i've grown a lot in that time frame when i look back on my initial shots to now... i have a better sense of what i need to do or am supposed to be doing... like when i saw this little guy - i can say it was almost instinctive to me in handling my camera... i said almost, not quite - still so much to learn... so much to study - to experiment about - to give thought to... of the umpteen shots i took of this one, there were about 2 that came out decent... i realize now - when i didn't before - those 2 truly make for...

a

happy day.....
