In concert

George made his debut on trombone at the school concert.

Since none of the kids has been playing very long, their teacher had got them all to learn a simple repeated rhythm. Standing behind them, he then played a tune over the top of it, which sounded pretty good.

They all seemed to enjoy the experience of playing in front of people (or "it was all right" as George put it. Praise indeed).

One thing struck me as odd: we hadn't been to the old primary school for ages, and it all seemed so much smaller than both Mo and I remembered. I thought that was only supposed to happen with schools you went to as a kid?
