Eid Al Fitr

The second of three days of Eid Al Fitr.

Celebrations have started as everyone takes to the streets wearing their new clothes. It's a happy time as they enjoy the freedom to eat, drink and smoke after being restricted and abstaining during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Families sit on the Corniche, eating crisps and drinking sprite, the funfair at Luxor Temple and Ab El Hagag, is a mass of screaming, excited children, fighting to have a go on the dodgems and swings.

An abundance of food is bought, as the feast begins. The butchers shops are filled with men trying to get the best cut of beef/lamb, to take home to share with the family and friends.

You tend to see some unsettling sights at this time, sheep tied up outside the butchers, skins folded up at the door and blood in the streets. This is a butchers shop that had closed for the day. I have never chosen to look at the hooks before, but as they were empty, they seemed 'Interesting' to me against the blue sky.
