Mostly Six Five Oh

Ice Day

Icicles on the front porch, everything glazed and treacherous.  By 8 a.m. nothing had changed and the phone started ringing: How's the ice looking on your side of town?  Not good.  All appointments rescheduled into next week.

Crunched gingerly down the front pathway, my neighbor was out...

He:  Enjoying the weather?
Me:  Umm...
He:  The snow is so much fun, but this ice... be careful!  (As I skidded along the front path).

From there we carefully went around with de-icing salts in the hopes of making sidewalks a little more navigable.  When the wind moves the ice covered trees they creak like ship timbers.  Temperatures will rise and rain is due this afternoon so that should speed up the thaw.

Time for another cup of coffee and I think I will join Doyle (extra) and watch Project Runway on the DVR.
