a hole in the clouds where the sun comes through

Went out walking with friends today on a hill opposite the large Griffin windfarm. It was a mix of weather, fairly windy, some rain, some sun and a fair bit of cloud but grand for a walk.
The route was short but pathless, so hard on the legs getting through long grass and heather (in between the burnt bits for the grouse management). Several mountain hares - rather conspicuous as they were white - and some grouse.
The turbines(68) were intrusive in the views one way but rays of sun catching them did give some elegance and in other directions were hazy mountains.
Out to a Tearfund Christmas concert this evening.
Phoned Mum when I got home as it's her birthday (92) and she was pleased to have got home from hospital yesterday.
