Lochan na h-Earba

We were staying on the Ardverikie Estate and this allowed us to drive on the estate roads, so we took advantage of this to get quite close to the base of Binnein Shios. It was a cold morning (-5) and the bogs were well frozen which made it easy to get up the hill’s south east side. It’s a lot more craggy than the map suggests and we had to scramble up an icy ramp before getting on the upper slopes. It’s a fine viewpoint with views from the Cairngorms to Ben Nevis. The blip is of a tree reflected in Lochan na h-Earba, taken on our way back along the ‘track’ on the north of the loch. It would normally be a boggy mess, but with the frost turned out to be a good walk.
