Meet the neighbours . . .

Below us are three hens and a bee hive with countless busy bees.  Hens move very fast when their owner put out scrapes for them.  This was the best I could do when one of the hens jumped up on the little fence to see if anymore might be coming their way.   Up until this happened I was without a blip.  I don't know what happened to the day but it disappeared without the camera being taken out.  We observed the chickens as we ate our dinner on the deck.  It had been a sunny day and late this afternoon the wind dropped.  All the doors are open and it feels like summer.  Apart from the chickens we could see yachts racing near Nelson.  The tide is coming back into the Waimea Inlet.  Bliss.
