packed

No requirements for the day again today; a shop was popped to to get a gift of fizzybooze for parent-visit, a graveyard trundled round to remark upon the odd co-incidence of combination of graveyard, railway line and allotments at both Cameron Toll and Warriston and to wonder at whether someone invented the name Davina for themselves as a slightly less "we really wanted a boy" version of Davidina. Another walk slightly later to deliver a book, a copy of an article in New Scientist and two pounds to the office for a couple of colleagues and that was pretty much it for the day apart from a late-night scrabble to attempt to find my old flashgun and to flap about what to take south. The original idea was to travel by train and take bicycles but the fact that Nicky hasn't sold her car yet and the large amount of crap we seem to need to take changes the plans. There is a bike rack in a cupboard but I'm never entirely comfortable using it - it can't be tightened quite tight enough to assure me that it wouldn't suddenly detach on the motorway. One bicycle just about fits in the boot with the seats down, wheels detached and at least one bit of the frame poking a good foot into the driving-space but it wouldn't leave much room for luggage. I'll just have to settle for walking.
