Southwest

Day 21 Southwest from Glossop Town centre crosses Philip Howard Road. So today's Blipfoto was nearly a tree lined road with a parallel footpath through woods that continue to the edge of Glossop brook.

But I've blipped enough green already this month so here is a whole load of local history on one information board.

In summary the Romans probably had a road through here parallel to the modern road but to the South.

Local landowner, mill owner Lord Howard was so grateful to the townsfolk that he gave them a park dedicated to the memory of the fallen in World War 1.

Of course there is a lot more to the history than that but if you are familiar with the Digested Read in The Guardian newspaper think of this as somewhere just short of the Digested Read, digested.

Been feeling a bit a poorly today so it's the first time I came close to forgetting to blip :-(
