Falk maps

This is a bit left-field............. Cal has been sorting through stuff in the loft and came across these maps. they date back to when I lived and worked in Germany which means that the Berlin map shows a divided city. Falk maps are clear and use bright colours but the really special thing is the way they are folded. the map is split into strips which can be folded down separately to change the area shown without having to wrestle with the whole map; it made reading the map as easy as reading a paperback book. Gerhard Falk patented this way of creating the maps in 1951. I've just had a quick look on the Interweb and Falk now flog satellite-navigation maps - I don't suppose many people wander round with Falk folding maps in the way we used to.
