Winter greens

Helen sells fruit and veg and bird food at her stall in the weekly market, always wearing her floral hat.  When I told her I was taking photos to send to potential newcomers [see yesterday's blip] she grabbed a stalk of Brussels sprouts and posed with a big smile.

Javi, inset, landed up at our cafe today and announced that he was travelling without money, trading work for bed and board. Young, Spanish and good looking he oozed charm. In no time he'd scoffed a turkey dinner and set to work on the washing up. He hadn't heard of Laurie Lee but I told him to read As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning in which the author pursues  the same adventure in reverse, at roughly the same age, 80 years ago.

No real link between these two except that both were in green hoodies.
