Self-timed exposure

This one of a handful of film negatives, chosen without method or conscious decision, that I just had digitized by ScanCafe.  Obviously,  a random shot of me with my twin girls Jess (mom of Jack & Grant), and Ally (mom of Grace and Emily) on one of  outings. The Art Director did not do a very good job on this particular composition, but the shuffling confusion and disconsolate frowns somehow capture a frame of true life. I remember the moment vividly and that we were all much happier than we appeared. (the dolls names were Mona and Baby Kay.)  I love these girls.
