Male Goosander

Nothing festive today .... too damp and dark .... totally un-Christmassy!

Hospital visiting this morning .... big changes in the visiting times these days .... anytime from 11am.  There is a pond very near Gartnavel Hospital and I had a quick look there before heading up to the hospital.

A bit wet for taking photographs but I managed a couple of shots before my camera lens got too damp. Thrilled to see the Goosanders.
This diving duck has a very striking appearance with his dark head and neck and largely cream coloured body. The long beak with the tiny hook on the upper part is serrated .... a great aid for catching fish.
