China - Day 11

I admit I wasn't really bothered about seeing the pandas. After all, I've been to Edinburgh zoo. 

My excitement levels didn't rise when we got to Panda Base and saw how busy it was.

Half-an-hour later I was elbowing and shoving in true Chinese style to get to the front of the crush and get the best view I could. There is something about these creatures that is just so endearing. Tucking into their bamboo stems and paying no attention to the hordes hanging over the fence a few metres from them, very cool indeed.

TM tells me the smog in Chengdu is so bad today that planes can't land. Poor people, poor pandas.
