Bearing Gifts

His Lordship and I took the slow train through to that 'dear green place' that is Glasgow to take Christmas presents and a 3rd birthday present to Ewan who has the misfortune of having the said birthday on the 23rd.  However as Lucy said, better the 23rd than the 26th or even the 2nd January which regrettfully is the birthday of her sister, my daughter#5

It is a train route on the wild side, that takes us through Bathgate,Airdrie, Coatbridge and Easterhouse before spitting us out at the HighStreet in Glasgow for the  short walk to the Drygate Brewery for lunch. You certainly see life on this route west.

I wanted a photograph of the whole family, but as always happens with two children in the mix, there is always one moving or not looking. The only one of Ewan not fuzzy or hiding behind his rabbit means that their father has had to be ditched. Sorry Mick!

The meal was a great success and more than that, there were no spillages or breakages as Ewan kept up a lively performance on the seating.

Before you knew it, were were homeward bound  to a beautiful sunset in Edinburgh, and night of watching Strictly. It can't get much better for two pensioners.
